Telugu film actor Pavan Kalyan, popularly called the ‘Power Star’ on Friday received a jolt when a Chennai Court stayed the release of his latest cinematic offering ‘Komaram Puli’, slated to hit the screens on September 9.
The court issued these orders following a petition filed by a Chennai-based outdoor production unit—Ravi Prasad Unit.
The unit sought stay order from the court regarding the film’s release as they claimed producer Singanamala Ramesh failed to clear bills amounting to the tune of Rs 2 crore.
The unit alleged that Mr Ramesh had given it a cheque for Rs 2 crore but it had bounced.
According to legal experts, though the stay has been issued by a Chennai Court, the order is applicable in Andhra Pradesh too.
Pavan Kalyan fans hope that since the movie is slated to be released on September 9, the stay order might be lifted as there is time to arrive at an amicable solution to the issue.
