Noted ayurvedic sexologist Swayam Prakash Kambhampati (48), died of cancer early on Friday morning.
Dr Kambhampati is survived by a wife and two children. He was battling with cancer since the past four years, ever since he was with the dreaded disease.He was well known for bringing relief to patients with sex related disease.
According to family sources, Dr Kambhampati completed his studies in ayurvedic medicine from Gujarat Ayurvedic University in Jamnagar. He later joined SV Ayurvedic College, Tirupati and worked as an Assistant Professor there. He established the now famous SV Clinic and research centre in 1992.
Dr Kambhampati participated in many international seminars conducted at various places in India on sexology.
He won outstanding Young Indian Award-1994, Bellam Venu Madhav Visista Award and Srujana Visista Awards for his contributions to the profession. He also set up ayurvedic medicines manufacturing unit under Sri Chakra Health Care.
He also acted in Telugu films ‘Meekosam,’ ‘Family Blues’ as part of educating people. Prakash last rites will be performed in Vijayawada on Saturday.
