Coming down heavily on Telugu Desam and its party chief Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Praja Rajyam Party leader K Chiranjeevi lashed out at the dirty games played by the TDP to tarnish the image of PRP in the public.
Speaking emotionally in his inaugural address at the PRP plenary, the PRP chief said TDP is trying to bury the PRP, alleging that PRP foiled the TDP chances of coming into power in the 2009 elections.
Recalling his past he noted ``I was an undisputed king in the Telugu cinema field. But I want to serve the people in a better way that is the reason why I had taken to politics. During the last two years I had learnt a lot in the politics. Now I am sure this experience will stand me in good stead, he added.
The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) will work with all like-minded parties in solving the problems of the people. We are open to political understanding with like-minded parties and also for alliances at the time of elections, Chiru told reporters.
"We are ready to work with like-minded parties. We will work with them towards addressing peoples' problems. We will also have electoral alliances. But elections are far away," he added.
The PRP will play a constructive role in building up the State. We are in the opposition doesn’t mean that we will oppose every move by the Government, Chiru observed.
When the welfare schemes are good , you need to support the government .But when the schemes are not implemented properly then you will have to fight for them, Chiru noted.
``Our party is like a swan. We would not try to belittle the ruling party just for the sake of it or to score political points," the actor-turned-politician said.
