Rakhi celebrated with much enthusiasm

Rakhi,  the festival that revives the bonds of love, affection and mutual trust was  celebrated with much enthusiasm, pomp and gaiety.

With  all the  educational institutions declaring holiday on Tuesday,  the young  girls  and  women carrying  decorative threads called Rakhis approached their brothers  seeking to tie  the Rakhi on the wrists of their brothers.

The markets are flooded with traditional as well as modern types of Rakhis. These days, Rakhis are decorated with all sorts of things like cartoons, film characters, toffees, etc. Even gold and silver bracelets are tied as Rakhis.

 City's cosmopolitan nature added more color and joy to the festival as people of various communities who have made Hyderabad as  their home celebrated the occasion in their own unique style and customs.
