2018 Movie Revived The Boxoffice With 75 Crs in 9 Days

There is another Story from Kerala, the film titled 2018 which is based on a true disaster happened in Kerala in 2018 depicts courage and valour of unsung heroes. 

According to the reports, the Tovino Thomas starrer has managed to mint more than Rs 75 crores worldwide. Malayalam industry who has been suffering with continuous failures at the box-office has finally found some respite with Jude Anthany Joseph directorial ‘2018’ is doing wonders at the box office. Along with Tovino Thomas, it also features Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Kunchacko Boban and Aparna Balamurali in key roles.

It’s sure that with all these positive responses from the audiences, the movie will turn out to be the most profitable venture in Mollywood this year. On the other hand, Fahadh Faasil’s comedy-drama movie ‘Pachuvum Athbhuthavilakkum is also doing well at the box office as it has reportedly minted Rs 9 crores in two weeks which is a good amount for a movie mounted on a low budget.

The Mollywood film industry had a rough first quarter as most of the films flopped at the box office. Approximately 73 films hit the big screens in the first quarter and only Soubin Shahir’s horror comedy film ‘Romancham’ turned out to be a hit. 2018 is a survival drama whose story is set against the backdrop of Kerala suffering from floods in 2018. The solidarity shown by the people of Kerala for 2018 - Everyone Is A Hero is visible in the collections that it is keeping the cash registers ringing.
