The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri sends legal notice to West Bengal CM Mamatha Bannerjee. It is known that Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee while banning The Kerala Story directed by Sudpito Sen, took the name of even The Kashmir Files, which went on to many awards.

Mamata Bannerjee thundered  “What is 'The Kashmir Files'? It is to humiliate one section. What is 'The Kerala Story'?... It is a distorted story. BJP is showing The Kerala Story, a distorted story. A few days back, some stars funded by BJP came to Bengal, and with some distorted and concocted story, they are preparing Bengal Files.”

Following this, earlier producer Abhishek Aggarwal who produced the film warned Mamata Banerjee of sending legal notice and file a defamation suit. Now director Vivek Agnihotri sent legal notices. He posted “I have, along with @AbhishekOfficl

& Pallavi Joshi sent a LEGAL NOTICE to the Chief Minister, Bengal @MamataOfficial for her false & highly defamatory statements made with malafide intention to defame us & our films #TheKashmirFiles & upcoming 2024 film #TheDelhiFiles.”

The Kashmir FIles highlighted the genocide against Hindus in the Kasmir in the 90s.
