Director Lingusamy has delivered Superhits in his career and is considered as one of the most promising directors in Kollywood. But with Suriya's Sikandar / Anjaan everything became upside down and he is yet to score a solid hit since then. He recently made Warriorr with Ram as Telugu - Tamil bilingual which also bit dust.

Meanwhile Lingusamy along with his brother Subhash Chandra Bose has founded a banner Thirrupathi Brothers and released several films. In 2022, PVP filed a case against him and his brother, Subash Chandra Bose, for a Rs 1.03 crore cheque bounce case.

In 2014 they had  borrowed this amount from the financial firm PVP Capital Limited. When the cheque they had issued bounced, PVP filed a case against them. Subsequently, a metropolitan magistrate court in Saidapet sentenced Tamil director N Lingusamy to six months’ imprisonment over a cheque fraud case. The order was issued on August 22, 2022, 

But, Lingusamy filed an appeal. On April 12, the Madras Principal Sessions Court upheld the 6-month jail sentence imposed by the Saidapet court on director Lingusamy. Now, he has to serve the 6 month jail time.
