Happy Birthday To Sekhar Kammula

Sekhar Kammula, a filmmaker who doesn't fit and seen in usual Film world which is filled with stars, star directors, meets, parties and events. He is seen very rarely that too in a small function to launch a book or to say few words about small films he like. Not only his films, Sekhar too doesn't try to place him in the glamour world. He and his films... That's all for him. He is a software engineer by profession and a filmmaker by passion. He made his first film Dollar Dreams as an independent film pooling from from his friends and released it in a couple of theatres in Hyderabad. It's more like a documentary than a film. 

Sekhar's second film, Anand too follows the same path. But, this time he made it in a more refined way suitable for movie format. Anand too was released in very few cities. But, it second and third week the word of mouth spreads and film began to screen in more number of theatres. Anand was released in the same time as Megastar Chiranjeeevi's Shankar Dada MBBS. Sekhar sincerely used to say that he wantedly release the film in theatres adjacent to Megastar's film so that even some of those who don't get tickets to Chiranjeevi's film would go and watch his film. Anand gave him recognition as a talented Filmmaker and brought him Godavari.

With Godavari he has earned a special place among the directors. It brings name nad fame to him. Then he made Happy Days with all new comers and it created a sensation. There is no turning back to him. He introduced Rana Daggubati as Hero with Leader. After Life is beautiful and Anaamika, Sekhar is back with a bang. His Fidaa starring Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi has made both of them as stars. He again worked with Sai Pallavi for Love Story costarring Naga Chaitanya and delivered once again. 

Sekhar Kammula always has sensible and natural emotions in his film. He never goes with the current trend to cash on the craze of stars or his fame. He makes what he believes. His films always have very strong women chracters. This made him different and standalone from his contemporary directors.
