Anand Ravi's Korameenu directed by Sripathy Karri is releasing today on 31, December 2022. The film increased interest levels with interesting teasers and trailers. The film's OTT partner is yet to be finalized and will be coming out in the coming days. Let us find out what Korameenu offered to movie lovers.
Korameenu story is all about ego clashes and how it affects the lives of a police officer, a criminal, and his driver. DCP Seetha Rama Raju (Shatru) is popular as Meesala Raju and is a dreaded encounter specialist. He gets transferred from Vijaywada eliminating the criminals there to Visakhapatnam. On the day of joining he gets a huge shock and on the investigation, he finds even more stunning revelations about the drug trafficking in Jalaripet, notorious criminal Karuna (Harish Uttaman), his driver Koti (Anand Ravi), Koti's lover Meenachi (Kishori Dhatrak), Koti's father Devudu( Raja Ravindra) through CI Krishna (Vajja Venkata Giridhar). Where this leads to forming the part of interesting developments.
Anand Ravi did well in the role of Koti. He did what is required of him showing the pain of a lover, and worker and taking the dreaded criminal headon. However, for all his efforts he failed to take it to the next level increasing the intensity. Kishori Dhatrak played the role of his lover and s showed powerful expressions and emotions. Her character is shown in a strong manner to create an impact. Harish Uttaman made his presence felt with his intense and impactful performance in the role of the dreaded criminal. Shatru did the role of the police officer quite well. Raja Ravindra got the limited role and he is ok with his performance. Vajja Venkata Giridhar is good in the role of the CI. Others like Indu Kusuma and Jabardasth Emmanuel performed according to their roles.
Story of Korameenu penned by Anand Ravi is a crime thriller in the backdrop of ego clashes. Though many such stories came earlier, Anand Ravi who is the writer has taken care that his screenplay has interesting twists and turns to keep viewers glued to the screen. Director Sripathy Karri started the narration in an interesting manner and the story picks up the pace with the investigation. The taking is realistic and natural and the first half ends in an interesting manner though at times the pace dipped during romantic and emotional scenes.
The second half once again goes in a serious way and at times predictability creeps with monotonous scenes with the narration not heading towards the destination. However, in the lead to the pre-climax and climax, numerous twists keep viewers watching it with increased interest levels. Finally, the film ends on a decent note. A few more interesting twists and turns and a racy screenplay would have lifted the film increasing its impact.
Anantha Narayanan's music is ok and the songs are situational. They are shot in a natural way but at times affected the flow of the film. The background music of Siddharth Sadasivuni elevated the scenes with good sounds. Kartheek Koppera's cinematography captured the natural locations in a scenic and beautiful manner. Vijay Vardhan Kavuri's editing is ok but could have been better as there are a few drags that slowed the tempo of the film. Dialogues are realistic and attractive. Production values are neat.
Altogether, Anand Ravi who played the lead role along with writing and providing the screenplay and Sripathy Karri directing Korameenu, got everything right most of the time, bleeding Korameenu into an interesting thriller. But the missing of renowned actors impacted the film in a big way. Had known faces done the film, Korameenu would have had a wider reach and made a greater impact. There is nothing to find fault with the effort of the makers. Anand Ravi penned a decent screenplay and Sripathy Karri directed it quite well turning it into a natural and realistic thriller. He got the optimum out of the cast and crew. A few minute loopholes like a lack of commercial elements, no real action, and at times missing logic at times brought down the spice of Korameenu. Finally Korameenu impresses to an extent. Considering all these points, Cinejosh goes with a 2 Rating for Korameenu.
