Satyanarayana is known for his frankness

Kaikala Satyanarayana, hailed as Navarasa Nata Sarvabhowma deserted all leaving Tollywood tear-struck. Satyanarayana is the epitome of frankness and many times he landed in trouble for his frank comments. Here are a few important incidents in Satyanarayana's life.

As a Hero

He starred as a hero in films like Sipayi Kuturu, Samsaram-Sagaram, Bangaru Manasulu, Ee Kaalam Dampatulu, Ma Vuri Ganga, Devude Digivaste, Na Pere Bhagavan, Jeevitama Oka Natakam, Surya Chandrulu, Moratodu,Tayaramma Bangarayya, and Kannavaarillu.

When legendary SVR hailed

SVR used to love Satyanarayana a lot. When Satyanarayana did Duryodhana's role in Sri Krishnavataram which was supposed to be done by him, he did not keep it in mind, but later praised him saying ' Well Done'.He liked Satyanarayana's hilarious performance in Devudu Chesina Manusulu. After watching the premier at night, the next day morning knowing that Satyanarayana was in Vikram Studio went there and congratulated him personally.

Made an impact as MP

After winning from Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh as MP, he made an impact with his first speech in Lok Sabha in 1996. He pointed out how renowned actors in their last days suffered and died miserably like Meenakumari, Chitturu Nagayya, and Savitri, and requested the government to constitute a fund from the taxes paid by the artists during their hay days and then look after them in their last days.

Had his way with NTR

The entire industry got divided vertically when NTR and Krishna were making Dana Veera Soora Karna and Kurukshetram. Even a rule was passed that actors in one film shouldn't be part of the other project. Only Satyanarayana starred in both projects. NTR offered Bheema's role to Satyanarayana in Dana Veera Soora Karna and put a condition that he shouldn't star in Kurukshetram. But Satyaranayrana informed NTR that Krishna asked him to do the Duryodhana role in Kurukshetram.

NTR turned furious and told ' Am I not telling you that you shouldn't star in that film', Satyanarayana said ' I am dreaming of doing Duryodhana's role. If you offer me Duryodhana's role in your film, I will not star in that film'. NTR retorted ' In our film, Duryodhana's role is designed specially and has a song also. It will not suit you. Only I should do.

Satyanarayana remarked ' even I would like to do and has the urge to do Duryodhana role Annayya." Then NTR said ' Ok you proceed ahead with both the films'.

Turned Ravan on an hourly basis

Bapu after watching Satyanarayana's performance in Sri Krishnavataram, he offered Ravan role in Seeta Kalyanam. Satyanarayana earlier did Ravan role in Sreeramaa Katha. Satyanarayana was extremely busy and expressed his inability. However, Bapu asked Satyanarayana to at least to do the role on hourly basis.The film turned out to be a classic. Satyanarayana did Ravan role in Seeta Rama Vanavasam.

Satyanarayana turned NTR's grandfather, NTR stabbed him

NTR for the first time starred in Manushulanta Okkate in Dasari Narayana Rao's direction. Dasari offered NTR's grandfather role to Satyanarayana. But Satyanarayana thought twice as NTR had immense stardom and whether viewers would accept him. Dasari informed NTR and NTR called Satyanarayana and turned serious and remarked' Will you do or shall I change the entire story'. Satyanarayana did the role as NTR played a key role in his career in films.

When Satyanarayana gave tensions to Dana Veera Soora karna, Kurukshetram

Satyanarayana starred in NTR's Dana Veera Soora Karna and Raviteja's Kurukshetram.He was shooting for Krishna's Kurukshetram and had to leave for Hyderabad for Dana Veera Soora Karna shoot, he got jaundice. He went to Krishmam Raju and told that he had to leave for Hydeabad or else NTR will get angry. Krishnam Raju gave him medicine but it did not cure. Krishnam Raju told him to go to Hyderabad and said his brother will give  him medicine. Despite that in Hyderabad, he suffered with jaundice. When he was hospitalised, rumours spread that NTR convinced Satyanarayana to come out of Kurukshetram. Krishna's brother Adi Seshagiri rushed to Hyderabad and told Satyanarayana to take rest but told him not to talk about leaving Kurukshetram.

Satyanarayana turned Repula Narayana

Satyanarayana as a villain raped all heroines except Bhanumati and one or two. Many called him Repula Narayana and many women movie lovers tried to thrash him.

Satyanarayana on awards

Seems they considered me along with Savitri and Anjalidevi who did not get awards. Shivraj Patil once said that they did not give award since I was TDP MP. If Nagayya given award everyone will be fine. If Brahmanandam gets? Mohan Babu got padma award. Did he do more films then me. I am not bothered.
