Connect Movie Review

Connect is all about a single mother and the ordeal she underwent during the lockdown. Susan (Nayanthara) leads a happy life along with her husband, doctor Joseph Bejoy, daughter Anna aka Ammu (Haniya Nafis), and father Artur Samuel (Sathyaraj) in Visakhapatnam. However, her happy personal life turns upside down with covid attack and the imposition of lockdown. To find out the shocking developments in Susan's life, how it is related to her daughter, and what role father Augustine (Anupam Kher) from Mumbai played should be found out on the big screen.
Ashwin Saravanan with Nayanthra's Connect planned to create havoc and fear in the minds of all movie lovers. Ashwin Saravanan showed that he had Hollywood dreams with his story, by including a Christian backdrop and the entire setup resembling the same. However, with the shades of Hollywood films The Conjuring and Exorcist, Ashwin lost the plot as comparisons took the front seat. Ashwin Saravanan failed to answer many important points and with him not coming out with clarity as to why the soul possessed the little kid and what happened to the Ouija House, Connect looked half-baked and did not connect chords with the movie lovers. Ashwin Saravanan failed with his story, screenplay, and direction. Connect though possessed with soul, failed to connect chords with the movie lovers. Connect is badly impacted by routine elements, lack of creativity and clarity, and failure to strike the emotional chords. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating to Connect.
