Suriya's Film With Director Bala Shelved

Director Bala joined forces with Hero Suriya for the third time after Nandha and Pithamagan titled Vanangaan (Tamil) / Achaludu (Telugu) where Suriya is playing the role of a fisherman. The duo joined hands together after 19 years. The first schedule of the film has been completed early this year. But there is no word about the next schedule. As five months passed without any update, speculations were rife that the project is shelved. Reacting these news, Director Bala thrashed them as mere rumours and added that the film is coming out very well. Krithi Shetty is the leading lady while GV Prakash is the music director. Suriya himself is producing the film under his 2D Entertainments banner. 

But today, all of a sudden Director Bala has issued a press note that his film with Suriya is not happening as the changes in the script doesn't suit him and he will proceed making Vanangaan with some other actor. This press note came as a shock to many. 

In a statement released by director Bala, he said, “I wanted to direct a new film ‘Vanangan’ with my younger brother Suriya. But due to some changes in the story, I now have a doubt whether this story will be suitable for Suriya. Surya has full faith in me and this story. It is also my duty as a brother that I should not cause even a small embarrassment to my younger brother who has so much love, respect and trust. So both of us have discussed and unanimously decided that Suriya will move away from the movie ‘Vanangan’. It was a decision he made in his best interest, even though he was deeply saddened by it."

To Bala's Press note, Suriya's 2D Entertainment also gave a reply stating,

"We respect Bala Anna’s feelings and decisions and Surya and ‘2D Entertainment’ company are withdrawing from Vanangaan. We will always stand by Bala Anna.”

Going by these two statements the film was dropped amicably by both Hero and Director after a thorough understanding. Suriya is currently doing a huge budget period film #Suriya42 with Director Siva.

Earlier Bala also did the similar thing with Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram. When Bala started remaking Telugu cult blockbuster Arjun Reddy introducing Dhruv Vikram titled Varmaa, after the completion of the film due to the dispute between the producer and director Bala about the output of the film, Varmaa is shelved. Later Dhruv made Adithya Varma with another director and casting.
