Versatile Hero Suriya's Jai Bhim was less known while it was in production. The film with its first look itself announced that it will be a direct to OTT release. The film was released in Amazon Prime last year. Right from its premier, Jai Bhim received rave response from all sections. Suriya's depiction in the role of real life character Justice Chandru has struck a chord with the viewers. It bagged numerous awards and made Suriya the first Tamil actor to join Oscars committee. The official word about the sequel is out.
Jai Bhim Director Tha Se Gnanavel and it's Producer Rajasekhar Pandian attended 53rd IFFI at Goa. When asked about the return of Lawyer Chandru, it is confirmed that there will be a sequel for sure. They also reminded that Justice Chandru has handled many cases in the real life. Going by these statements we can expect many films from Jai Bhim franchise.
Jai Bhim is based on the life of Parvati Ammal, who fought for justice after her husband Rajakannu was killed due to police brutality. It explored about how Madras High court judge Chandru in 1993 fought the case for Parvati Ammal. Suriya also donated Rs 1 crore to the Tamil Nadu government for the education and welfare of Irula students before the release of the film.
