Vikram Vedha sinks Bollywood dreams

Bollywood is hoping for divine intervention in one or the other form and for a long the makers are praying that at least one of their star-studded film does well to revive the industry from the sagging fortunes and break the shackles so that it can come out of the clutches of the South films.

Their hopes got crashed with films like Samrat Prithviraj, Rakshabandhan, Laal Singh Chadda, and even Brahmastra failing miserably despite a powerful push from the critics and the media houses. They pinned all hopes on the mass action entertainer Vikram Vedha which featured Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan. Though the film was a remake, expectations are high as it was directed by Pushkar and Gayathri who directed the original and the film was an action entertainer.

The film got good reviews but much to the shock of all the box office numbers are not reflecting it. The film on the first day got just Rs 10crs and the second-day numbers are just Rs 12 crs which is extremely disappointing. Bollywood is breaking its head as to what more it should do to revive itself.
