Samrat Prithviraj sinks

Akshay Kumar is the top Bollywood star and he has been scoring hits continuously at the box office powering the Bollywood engine at the box office even during the corona time. When Bollywood is reeling under the string of flops and in the surge of South action films that are crushing them, Bollywood pinned all its hopes on Akshay Kumar's historical entertainer Samrat Prithviraj bankrolled by Yash Raj Films in a lavish and prestigious manner. The film was directed by Chandraprakash Diwedi who shot to fame with the TV serial Chanakya. 

However much to the shock of all, Samrat Prithviraj sank at the box office. The film had a disappointing run at the box office and the film's collections ran as follows. Its collection breakup is as follows.  Fri 10.70 cr, Sat 12.60 cr, Sun 16.10 cr, Mon 5 cr, Tue 4.25 cr, Wed 3.60 cr, Thu 2.80 cr. Total: ₹ 55.05 cr. #India biz.

The film marked the debut of Miss World Manushi Chillar on the big screen. It starred Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in important roles.
