Just Wow: Making of Raavan!

‘Is this man crazy? How could I erect a setting on midway of this deadly waterfall?,’ a statement from Art Director Sameer Chanda on director, producer Maniratnam. But, Mani is Mani, he will put his maximum efforts and make other departments to do so. Sameer Chanda agreed that, Mani made me to do this impossible into possible.

Yesterday was a thrilling day for all those regular TV buffs who have watched the ‘Making of Raavan/Villain’ in HMTV and CNN IBN. The toil and sweat that has gone into the shooting of this movie in deadly evergreen forest regions is all will speak about Mani’s dying for authenticity. Shootings to start in early morning 3AM which will be frequently disturbed by silent drizzles to heavy downpours, yet they have to work till night 9 to 10 PM then do rehearsals for their next day shoot. Not one or two, but a bunch of start cast ranging from Aishwarya Rai to Karthik and India’s biggest technical team from cinematographer Santosh Sivan to choreogrpaher Ganesh Acharya, every one agree that shooting for ‘Raavan/Villain’ was a hell.

Forget about the soggy screenplay or an insult to ‘Ramayana,’ ‘Villain/Raavan’ is worth a watch  for the amount of hard work this team has kept and this ‘Making of Raavan’ further makes you feel proud of Maniratnam as our Indian director.
