If you want to get a better product, you always need to do some extra ordinary work. Here is the simple formula which holds right for director Maniratnam’s product ‘Raavan’ which is getting ready for release. Every department of the movie was tortured (sweet) to the fullest starting from the superlative starcast headed by Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan and Vikram, music by Oscar winner A R Rahman, lyrics by the Oscar winner Gulzar and is produced in association with Reliance BIG Pictures.
Action director Shyam said, ‘Shooting for Raavan began last year January in Kolkata, then Ooty and the climax was shot on Malsej Ghat where theres a scene on bridges 2,000 feet above mountains. Mani loves challenges and likes challenging his actors and technicians too. His quest for perfection puts them through a gruelling routine.’
Production designer Samir Chanda says the same, ‘Raavan was a tough one for me. Especially the floods scene and the climax gave me sleepless nights.’
Cinematographer Santosh Sivan adds, ‘Shooting on top of the bridge was a huge challenge because it was a real location, a real bridge and involved a real fight... one couldn't do any computer graphics here.’
With such hard work from every department, hope ‘Raavan’ be a world wide success.
