Artists, Technicians Review

Director Rachakonda Vidyasagar tried to impress movie lovers by creating fun out of the very common problem encountered by many in this world. He chose to weave a story around baldness and how people feel insecure and try to hide it to impress others be it in their personal and professional life. The plot and story are unique and it captures the imagination of all. Director however failed to generate interest in the story as his screenplay and direction fell flat. Though the start generates interest, everything fizzles out within no time. The narration turns out to be ordinary with no real twists and turns. All the dialogues looked forced and even the so-called humor failed to click and this ended up testing the patience of the viewers.

After an ordinary first half, the interval block is just ok. Viewers are left to wonder how the narration goes on as the director unravels the hero's baldness to the heroine. Rachakonda Vidyasagar tried to elevate scenes blending them with emotions and humor. But the emotions are not elevated in the most powerful manner. The second half slowly drags to a predictable end. The climax failed to set the tone to end the film on a high note.

Avasarala Srinivas performed well as a person suffering from an inferiority complex arising out of his baldness. He expressed himself well in a natural and realistic manner. His humor is quite good. However, at times, he failed to emote as well as he could have. Ruhani Sharma looked good and impresses with her performance. She complimented Avasarala Srinivas with her screen presence. Rohini as Avasarala Srinivas' mother did well in her role. Others like Krishna Bhagavan, Rocket Raghava, Ramana Bharadwaj did their roles accordingly.

Shaktikanth Karthik's music is just ok. He failed to make an impact with his tunes. The same is the case with the background music. It seems he just passed through the motions. Kiran Ganti's editing left many drags in the narration which slowed the pace of the film. Production values are good.

Rating Analysis

Director Rachakonda Vidyasagar's Nootokka Jillala Andagadu made viewers look towards his film with an interesting teaser and trailer. However, the film lacked a strong screenplay and the missing emotions and soul killed it completely. The flat narration and predictable plot did not help the film in any manner. Viewers expected a lot of fun and laughing riot in the theatres but with that completely missing, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Considering all these points, CJ goes with a 2.25 rating for Nootokka Jillala Andagadu.
