Behind the Movie Prince of Persia: Walt Disney Pictures is again set to thrill you with their wonder creations as the same team that has shown the visual wonder ‘Pirates of the Carribbean’ are now presenting this ‘Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time.’ Movie made on a whopping budget raising many expectations across the world. Let us see…what is this ‘Sands of Time’ is all about?
In the Movie Prince of Persia: Dastan, an orphan is a brilliant and brave kid adopted by the King of Persia who has two more sons. Three of these princes grow with time in valor and our hero the adopted Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) along with two of his brothers lead an assault on the holy city of Alamut who are suspected of hoarding and selling the weapons to destructive forces. Princess of Alamut is Tamina (Gemma Arterton) possessing the most precious magical dagger ‘Sands of Time’ (a gift from the gods that can reverse time). Dastan’s uncle Nizam (Ben Kingsley) has an eye on this dagger who wants to win the whole world using this reverse of time. On this war to acquire Alamut, Dastan comes across this dagger and becomes a savior for the world. Nizam kills both of the Princes and King of Persia by the help of Hasassin, the killer.
Now, Dastan was sent on exile and Princess Tamina comes to his rescue as both start their adventurous journey to save the ‘Sands of Time’ from Nizam. They are asssisted by ostrich racing organizer (Alfred Molina) and his follower Seso, the Negro (Steve Toussaint) who loose their lives. As the story reaches climax, a strong lock related to the entire movie is revealed and this kick is to be felt only on the screen.
Values and Out of the Movie Prince of Persia: Prince and Princess travelling through various geographic land features themselves becoming the saviors of world with an impeccable weapon in their hands is something what we see in many kinds of Computer Games and movie is exactly the way it is charged. Especially protagonist in the film Jake Gyllenhaal is an action star and his stunts resemble the power characters that we play with in Computer Games (Sorry…came to know a bit late after the movie that there is a Computer Game already named Prince of Persia) He jumps like a Jackie Chan and tries to keep a check performance wise on Ben Kingsley. IF Alfred Molina tried to evoke laughter it was Gemma Arterton tried to spill the romance mixed with glamor, everytime she is impressed by Jake Gyllenhaal’s bravery. Director Mike Newell well carried the tempo of movie till the end but there are too many sub plots and too many forced characters into the film that diluted the main plot. Screenplay was somewhere between weak to moderate. It was the art work in the movie that looked spell bound giving us an opportunity to go through this desert Kingdoms of Persia. Production quality is too good and movie may be easily liked by kids and families who try to rejoice with new things in this ending times of Summer holidays.
Cinejosh Verdict of the Movie Prince of Persia: Can safely give a try with your kids in this hot summer for this adventurous journey. (Try to go for a Telugu version if available)
