Filmmaker Praveen Sattaru is easily one among the many underrated names in Telugu cinema, who has proved his versatility over a brief yet eventful career spanning a decade. The award-winning director’s last feature film was the hit PSV Garudavega with Rajasekhar and he’s recently been in the news for making his web series debut with the Tamannaah-starrer 11th Hour on streaming platform Aha.

The director is relieved that he doesn’t always need to pander to the mainstream to tell new stories and opines that the web medium has worked well as a timely alternative for many filmmakers. “It’s a welcome change that a filmmaker wanting to tell a good story needn’t always succumb to a mainstream medium, where they’re not restricted by theatres, star cast or the release,” he adds.

11th Hour has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, but this hasn’t affected the filmmaker’s credibility much. He’s slated to direct another show for a major streaming platform and is directing Nagarjuna for an action thriller. On this welcome phase in his career, Praveen shares, “I love to be busy and believe that my brain is sharper when I’m under pressure to deliver. If I’m not busy, I feel as if I’m losing out on life and going numb. When I’m in the middle of many projects, I also think as I sleep and love that burst of activity.”
