Grandniece to Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, wife of actor Arya, Sayyeshaa is charming as ever in her 20s, dancing like a dream and still boasting of a ravishing screen presence. She was brimming with raw potential when she entered the industry with Akhil, though its commercial result continued to haunt her wherever she went. While she did one Bollywood film Shivaay alongside Ajay Devgn, it was the Tamil film industry that became the wind beneath her wings where she acted alongside top names like Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Karthi.
The actress’ latest film is the trilingual, Teddy where she shares screen space with her better half for the fourth time. Teddy, a medical thriller focusing on the organ trade mafia, directly released on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar the previous week. The teddy bear in the film comes alive through motion capture technology, only used for the second time in South Indian cinema after Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyyan/Vikrama Simha. However, the inept, illogical execution of the plot left the streaming viewers and critics disgusted.
Sayyeshaa, who’s next awaiting the release of the Kannada film Yuvarathnaa with Puneeth Rajkumar, still has age on her side and could turn the tide in her favour, provided she picks her projects carefully. As of now, the film world has hardly done justice to Sayyeshaa’s talents and luck hasn’t favoured her much. She was recently in the news for exiting Balakrishna’s film with Boyapati Srinu.
