Big News: Soorarai Pottru In Oscars

In a big news to the fans of Suriya and Indian cinema Sudha Kongara’s directorial Soorarai Pottru has entered Oscar race in the eligibility of Best Actor and Best Film. The production team elated over the news announced, “We are elated and thrilled!!! #SooraraiPottru joins OSCARS!!!” The film got release in Telugu as Aakaasam Nee Haddu Ra and went to perform well at the box-office. 

Starring Suriya and Aparna Balamurali, the film is produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga. Soorarai Pottru deals with the life of Air Deccan CEO Gopinath. The film was suppoed to hit the screens last year but due Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown, the film went on for digital release.

It is worth mentioning that The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have tweaked the norms this year owing to pandemic. The films which went for OTT release have also found a place in Oscar category for the competition.
