Tollywood producers who are currently focusing on cost cutting measures are facing resistance from actors. As actors are not at all willing to take pay cuts, a committee of producers looking into the issue is said to have suggested that actors should be paid remuneration in three installments, according to sources. Initially they will be paid 10 per cent advance. 40 per cent while the shooting is going on. The remaining 50 per cent during post-production of the film.
Meanwhile, the committee has also asked movie artistes to work for 12 hours a day to which the artistes didn't' agree. The movie artistes association maintained that they would work for 8 hours a day.
It remains to be seen whether the efforts of producers, to bail out Tollywood which is witnessing more flops of late, would be fruitful.
