As the third anniversary of Mecca Masjid blasts in Hyderabad is nearing by, city is reeling under new tensions. Following intelligence reports of a possible terror attack in the city, City police had taken up massive security operations last week and city was kept on high alert. Consequently after the arrest of Zia Ul Haq few days ago, the high alert was lifted off.

Today few hours ago, three assailants arrived on motorbike near Shalibanda in old city and opened fire on a constable named Ramesh who was on picketing duty. These assailants wore masks and opened fire. Before other constables retaliated by opening fire, these assailants escaped away. Constable Ramesh was shifted to Osmania General Hospital but was declared dead.

Very soon, entire city was kept on high alert and the main suspect around this assassination was known to be Vikaruddin, a Lashkar activist. Entire city is now reeling under new fears.
