Power Star Review, What’s Behind?

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma comes up with yet another controversial film Power Star that is now streaming on his own application- RGV World Theater. 250 is the price tag. Is it worth the price or another disappointment from RGV?  Let’s discuss it in actual review part.

Power Star Story Review:

Prawan Kalyan loses in the election battle and shows his frustration by breaking his TV set at his farm-house. The next episodes show his interaction with various people- his close friend-director who prepares him speeches, elder brother who advises him to bid adieu to politics and return to films, Chinna Annayya’s consoling words etc.

Power Star Artists, Technicians Review:

37 minutes is the runtime of the film. It is equal to length of one episode of a web-series. All the hungama RGV made prior to its release was to gain attention to sell the film. It is a satirical take on Pawan Kalyan with few episodes. In fact, most of the episodes are there in trailer. The film is just extension of these scenes. Camera work is pretty ordinary, so is the music. Production values are below par. Immature short filmmakers are far better to RGV.

RGV opted to actors who have the resemblance of Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi, Chandrababu Naidu, Anna Lezhneva, Bandla Ganesh etc. Like the technicians, all the actors performed poorly. RGV’s philosophy in the end gives big headache.

Power Star Review Advantages:

Nothing Much

Power Star Review Drawbacks:

Almost Everything

Power Star Review, Rating Analysis:

RGV took a brave decision of making a satirical film on Pawan Kalyan, though he calls it as a fictional tale. At least he made previous political satires as full length movies. But, Power Star can be termed as a short film for its length. From the beginning to end, we will witness RGV mark paithyam everywhere.

The film begins with elections results being announced in TV and Prawan Kalyan watching them. He expresses anger for losing the elections by breaking the TV to pieces. Prawan then slaps his director who writes election speeches which couldn’t help him. Already RGV has been facing criticism for showing Trivikram Srinivas in a bad light.

Prawan’s elder brother comes to farmhouse to warn him. He tells him to quit politics and comeback to films. Kathi Mahesh episode followed by Gaddi Thintava song is B Grade stuff. Gundla Ramesh episode is silly. Chandrababu Naidu’s sequence is also pointless. Better not to talk about the lecture given in the end by the genius RGV.

All in all, Power Star is worst ever film from RGV. Even Rs 5 is more than enough for the film which is meant to degrade the image of Pawan Kalyan. CJ gives 0.5 rating we advise you to skip the film concerning your health.
