Jamuna's son-in-law Rahul Reddy arrested

Rahul Reddy, son-in-law of veteran Telugu film actress, Jamuna, was arrested on Wednesday under the Dowry Prohibition Act.  He has been at  large since April 16. As reported earlier, J.R.M. Sravanthi, daughter of Jamuna, approached the women’s police station at Basheerbagh  and lodged a complaint against her husband Rahul Reddy and in-laws alleging they had subjected her to mental and physical torture.

In her complaint, she alleged that ever since her marriage, the trio (mother-n-law, fathr-in-law, and  husband) had been torturing her physically and mentally, apart from demanding additional dowry.

A case was registered  under Sections 498 (A) IPC (cruelty to wife by husband or relatives), 506 (criminal intimidation) IPC and sections 4 and 6 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Sravanti’s father-in-law  and  mother-in-law were arrested while  Rahul evaded  the  police.
