Young Rebel Star Prabhas’s Saaho released amidst huge expectation across the country, however, gave a huge shock to the makers. Though the film got record openings across the country following Prabhas' immense stardom post Baahubali, the film bombed at the box office. Except for the Hindi version, the film's Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions left the distributors in huge losses.
Many analyzed Saaho failure but star dialogue writer Paruchuri Gopalakrishna dissected the reason behind Saaho failure. He analyzed Saaho failure in the following manner.
He said, “In revenge dramas, one should reveal to the movie lovers how the villains troubled hero and why hero wants to take the revenge as soon as possible. Only then audience too could feel and get connected with the hero's revenge. But in Saaho since the makers revealed the twist only in the end including numerous twists till that time, cine goers couldn't get connected emotionally to the film's content.
Sujeeth may have thought to thrill movie lovers with the twists but had he revealed the twist at least by the interval and the loss suffered by hero in the second twists at the start of the second half, Saaho's emotional content would have made a powerful impact on the people."
