The festival of Sri Rama Navami is celebrated in the memory of Lord Rama’s birth on this divine earth. In Andhra Pradesh, this day is also commemorated as the wedding anniversary of Sri Rama and Sita Devi. In Bhadrachalam, abode of Sri Rama the event of Sitarama Kalyanam, the ceremonial wedding ceremony of the celestial couple is held with great fanfare and accompanied by group chanting of the name of Rama.
In context of this divine marriage of Sri Rama, ‘Varudu’ movie unit members have attended the Filmnagar Sri Rama temple to seek the blessings. Director Gunasekhar has explained the similarity in concept of ‘Varudu’ movie with that of Lord Sri Rama’s marriage. ‘Five day marriages are a part of our Telugu culture and Seetha Rama marriage is a beautiful example to showcase our Telugu culture and heritage. However I have tried my best to equal the charm of Seetha Rama marriage with the marriage event in my ‘Varudu.’ It is the magical pen of Veturi which has done the trick to still elevate my movie.’
As per our Telugu culture, ideal ‘Varudu’ is identified by Sri Rama while a perfect ‘Vadhvu’ is seen in Seetha Devi. Going on the same lines is this ‘Varudu’ movie which is going to hit the theatres on 31st of the month.
