Vinaya Vidheya Rama Review, What’s Behind?

After the sensational hit Rangasthalam, Ram Charan whose main forte still continues to be action has come up with a pure commercial high voltage dishum-dishum entertainer directed by specialist Boyapati. Will this movie become a Sankranthi winner in the midst of tough competition? Let’s see...

Vinaya Vidheya Rama Story Review:

Rama (Ram Charan), an orphan is raised by four other child orphans when they find him at a railway station in critical condition. Soon they become a family wherein elder one Bhuvan Kumar (Prashanth), a honest election officer while other two join police force. After many initial ordeals, Rama locks horns with a powerful Bihar rowdy politician Raja Bhai (Vivek Oberoi) who kills Bhuvan. How Rama takes revenge is the rest of blood thirsty action.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama Artists, Technicians Review:

How well do you define a mass commercial film? Few powerful dialogues, a good number of heroism elevation scenes and high voltage action episodes blended in emotional drama is the best answer one can get from audience and makers. In fact, it's the same response Boyapati Srinu agrees on and makes sure that all his films are loaded with so called above said commercial ingredients. But, his template treatment by no means can survive all the time. Vinaya Vidheya Rama is another Boyapati mark formula flick but with zero uniqueness and struck in 90s. If one can sense a story, then it reminds us of Boyapati and many other successful directors old films while screenplay too is filled with meaningless, uncountable action blocks lacking in conviction. Though Boyapati tasted bitter results in recent times, he hasn't changed much and looked naive in handling all the departments for VVR. However, the film has few moments for masses and action lovers. Here and there, Boyapati spark build-up shots and nerve breaking stunts will please the front benchers. Despite all this, VVR is likely to join Boyapati's bottom most list for sure.

Music director Devi Sri Prasad came up with routine tumes and background score too is unappealing. Cinematography by Rishi Punjabi and Arthur A Wilson is prolifically class wherein editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and Thammiraju added to negatives. Production values of DVV Entertainments are top class. On the lee side, Boyapati has not only wasted a world of resources at disposal but also broke the trust Mega Fans kept on him.

Onto artists, Ram Charan shined like the only star in dark sky with this power-packed role . He is too good in action part and the moment he flaunted six pack abs in a crucial action block, he reminds us of Rambo series carrying a machine gun and with tattooed body. His dances are striking and will surely please Fans. Kiara Advani in her second stint in Tollywood did a typical Telugu glamour heroine oozing oomph in a rather insignificant role. Prashanth in his second innings did a decent job as Charan’s elder brother. Then other brothers Aryan Rajesh, Ravi Varma and Madhunandan didn’t get much to perform. Boyapati takes utmost care about his villains. Unfortunately, Vivek Oberoi is not up to the mark. 30 Years Pridhvi provided some relief while Hema is ridiculous. Esha Gupta sizzled in a special song. Sneha and other artists were just okay.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama Review, Rating Analysis:

When young directors with fresh and unique subjects are reaping wonders at box office, there is always a vast scope for experienced seniors to learn and implement something new into their old formula scripts. But a rigid Boyapati Srinu who doesn’t come out of his box ideas further lowered himself with VVR. Nevertheless, Charan was also compared with Sylvester Stallone in Rambo series when his six pack abs stills were released further hiking the expectations. Thankfully, Charan looked apt as Tollywood Rambo but Boyapati killed all the hardwork and essence with his over confidence.

VVR 1st half begins with childhood episodes of Prashanth and other orphan brothers which are meant to notify how their lives changed after finding Charan. This kid even murders a rowdy which will prepare us for the high action coming up in next stages. Interestingly, Charan and Vivek’s face-off introduction is clearly a bluff. Charan’s pelli choopulu with Kiara is fairly humorous followed by 30 Years Pridhvi’s philosophy on wives. Prashanth’s take on Vizag bi-elections reflect his honest character. Pre interval block is the major attracting point with Charan’s attack on Bihar gang. What's their motto and Sakshi Ram's presence further generated impact.

Second half begins with Prashanth’s next task in Bihar where Vivek Oberoi is bigger than Chief Minister, powerful personality with his own private army. Charan’s efforts to save his brother are shown in a lengthy action episode where he kills over 300 people. This sounds silly but the number is unveiled by Vivek’s man. So, VVR episode is thrice ‘Magadheera’ in terms of number. Even before we settle, we have another action block before Vivek introduces his strength to villagers. And the movie ends with final fight between protagonist and antagonist leading for happy ending. In between the sentiment, drama and emotion on Sneha didn't come out well.

Overall, Vinaya Vidheya Rama is a formulaic mass masala entertainer with heavy dose, over the top action and nil on content. The film has few chances to perform in mass centers and with Sankranthi holidays season, verdict from masses will be the deciding factor. CJ goes with 2.25 stars and the BO fate is a question mark.
