Success of Arjun Reddy, Kumari 21F and RX 100 influenced upcoming directors to come up with bold and youthful entertainers to enjoy commercial applause. Yesterday released 24 Kisses is also a romantic entertainer that described kiss philosophy- types of kisses and their meaning.
Director Ayodhya Kumar openly said that, his intensions of making a bold film like 24 Kisses was due to poor response for his debut directorial Minugurulu. He in a TV show said, “When I made a social message film like Minugurulu, audience rejected it completely resulted in losses to my producers. So, I changed my mind and made 24 Kisses. It is not completely a bold film as it will have a good message like in my first film.”
Yes, 24 Kisses has a good social message. But, including such elements in a bold and intimate film played spoilsport. Even the kiss philosophy went terribly wrong. Had Ayodhya Kumar described about 24 different types of kisses convincingly, at least one section of audience would have loved it. Because of his unreasonable poetry and slow paced narration, the film is getting lukewarm response.
Other than kisses and bold scenes, films like Arjun Reddy, Kumari 21F and RX 100 had strong content, whereas Ayodhya Kumar lacked conviction which is the reason why 24 Kisses is criticized by critics and audience alike.
