Devadas Swallowing Mahanati Profits

Mega producer Ashwini Dutt once delivered blockbusters with star heroes. But, he tasted bitter results later because of poor judgement in picking scripts.

Mahanati directed by the producer’s son-in-law Nag Ashwin brought the old glory to prestigious production banner. The biopic on legendary actress Savitri ended as one of the biggest hits of this year.

But, then Ashwini Dutt exposed his weak story selection yet again with Devadas. Besides having two big stars like Nagarjuna and Nani on board, the film couldn’t even rake reasonable openings. What’s more, it only witnessed drop from second day and collections on week days are far worse.

Being a star and influential producer, Ashwini Dutt failed to balance the egoes of Nag and Nani which is the reason why the film became inconsistent on narrative. Nagarjuna left for Europe trip and Nani too stopped promoting the film. Apparently, both the stars are well aware of the film’s final result and cleverly avoided the Fans heat.

Frankly speaking, Devadas is literally swallowing the profits that Ashwini Dutt made with Mahanati. As per trade analysts, the Sriram Aditya directorial will end up as one of the finest flops at box office. Anyways, poor Dutt Garu is back to form.
