The film landed in various controversies. It is known that Sometime back Shashank Vennelakanti filed a legal complaint accusing the director Anand Shankar of not giving him credit for his dialogues.
Couple of days back Producer, director and former member of Censor Board, Keti Reddy Jagadesewar Reddy, who is also a powerful politician in Telangana, sent letters to Election Commission, Union Home Ministry, Governor, DGP to stop the release of the film as the film's trailer showed that the makers supported one particular party and this may influence voters in Telangana which is heading for elections. He requested the authorities to prevent the release of the film on Oct 5 and direct the makers to release the film after the elections in the state.
Even Congress party leaders opposed the film release saying the film is favoring one particular party and janata (people) after watching the film will press Nota button during elections. Vijay Deverakonda made fun of these accusations from the politicians.
