Super Stars Sensation In A Storm

During 1972-73, World Telugu Meets had happened under the leadership of Minister Mandali Krishna Rao. All the stars co-operated him completely. They toured across the state and performed dramas, plays, skits, mimicries, music etc.

They performed in Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Rajamundry, Vijayawadda and Tenali. SP Balasubhramaniam’s musical night, Rajasulochana’s dance, Venu Madhav’s mimicry and other actors dramas thrilled everyone. 

Appalacharya’s play Vinta Manushulu used to have lot of characters and Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, Radhakumari, Leelarani, Chandramohan, Sakshi Rangarao, Gummadi, Jaggarao, Ravikondalarao and others used to play those roles on stage.

A huge set was erected in Rajamundry and in the middle of the play, heavy winds came and the tarpaulin over the top flew away. It started heavily and Krishna told the people that they will continue if people wish to see. 

Spectators too replied in the affirmative and started watching the performances covering themselves with chairs. However rain intensity increased and with winds blowing, the bulbs got broken and mikes stopped functioning. Helplessly people and the stars made a hasty retreat.
