While 2018 brought luck to few actors, many Telugu stars faced unforgettable disasters this year. Here is the list of the films which ended as biggest disasters for various actors:
1. Agnyaathavaasi: This Power Star Pawan Kalyan starrer and Trivikram Srinivas directed film released with high expectations but it disappointed completely. The film that made 128 Cr pre-release business had recovered only 58 Cr, incurring 70 Cr loss to distributors. Obviously, Agnyaathavaasi is biggest dud for PK.
2. Ye Mantram Vesave: Vijay Deverakonda signed this film after It’s My Life. The film made on a low budget disappeared from theaters in no time.
3. Krishnarjuna Yuddham: Nani was the most bankable star in Tollywood. But, his film Krishnarjuna Yuddham couldn’t recover even half of what it fetched to producers through pre-release business. The Merlapaka Gandhi film made 30 Cr business, wherein it collected nearly 15 Cr for full run. It is indeed biggest disaster in Nani’s career.
4. Naa Peru Surya: Allu Arjun never scored industry hit, but producers were always happy associating with him despite result of his films. However, his last movie Naa Peru Surya incurred huge losses to buyers. Theatrical rights of the film valued 80 Cr, wherein it minted only 65 per cent of it (50 Cr).
5. Nela Ticket: Touch Chesi Choodu was biggest flop in Raviteja’s career. But, within no time he broke his own record with Nela Ticket. The film had made 22 Cr pre-release business. But, it recovered 11 Cr for full run.
6. Officer: This is biggest disaster for any star hero film. Directed by RGV, the film couldn’t even make 1 Cr business at box office.
7. Naa Nuvve: Overall, theatrical values including expenses valued for 7 Cr. But, the Kalyan Ram and Tamannaah starrer film tallied to a recovery of just over 15 per cent (1.5 Cr). Undoubtedly, this film is biggest flop for Kalyan Ram.
8. Tej I Love You: Sai Dharam Tej is not learning from his mistakes. He scored two disasters this year with Inttelligent and Tej I Love You. The Karunakaran directed film was disappeared from theaters without any trace in short time. Worldwide theatrical rights of the Karunakaran directed film are valued at 16 cr, whereas it recovered only 7 to 8 Cr so far. It is heading towards biggest disaster for SDT.
9. Lover: Although Raj Tarun was going through lean phase, Dil Raju has the track record of providing hits to flop stars and filmmakers. However, Lover can’t save Raj Tarun. The film is doing below par business at box office and it is expected to recover just 30 to 40 per cent of its budget.
