Speculation On Padmavat Cuts

Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh,Shahid Kapoor's film Padmavati directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali created huge controversy when Rajputs and Royals from Mevar opposed the film release accusing the filmmakers of insulting their sentiments by showing Queen Padmavat in a vulgar manner twisting history. 

After much deliberations and consultations with the committee of eminent scholars and historians and the filmmakers, Censor Board recently passed the film. Censor Board claimed that they suggested the makers a change in the name of the film from Padmavati to Padmavat and disclaimer that the film is based on fiction and also that it doesn't promote Sati or Jauhar during Jauhar song. 

The filmmakers heaved a sigh of relief as decks are cleared for its release on Jan 25 across the world. However rumours are spreading that there were 30 cuts in the film. Some even exaggerated it to around 300 cuts. 

While the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali remained silent even as Karni Sena is hellbent on opposing the film release, Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi rubbished all the rumors.
