Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati finally experienced the censor troubles yesterday. However in a relief to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Censor Board agreed to clear the film with U/A certificate if the makers comply with the following conditions.
The news spread like a wild fire and rumours cameout that the Censor Board suggested 26 cuts including many changes. However, Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi made clear that they suggested only a title change and five modifications.
Now the question is will Sanjay Leela Bhansali agree to change the title from Padmavati to Padmavati and also carry two disclaimers by modifying the Ghoomar song in the film. Censor Board asked the makers to carry the disclaimer that the song donot glorify Sati or Jauhar and also that the song has no historical accuracy.
In the midst of all this Royal family members opposed the censor certification for the film and questioned how could a mere disclaimer but with the film bearing the names of their ancestors will solve the controversy. Some of them even shot a letter to PM Modi opposing the film certification.
