Kamal Hasan Supports Mersal!

Whenever Tamil cinema came in a rift with contemporary politics and political parties, the final winner was in politics. This time, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Mersal which opened to mindblowing collections is facing the political heat from BJP because of controversial dialogues placed on GST and Digital India.

Obviously such dialogues irked BJP and a new demand for re-censoring the film is hence put forth. Though Mersal producers agreed to chop off these portions and dialogues which are contradicting the ruling party in Centre, certain section of common audience are not impressed with the pressure tactics. In fact, entire Kollywood stood in support of Vijay.  

‘Mersal was certified. Do not re-censor it. Counter criticism with logical response. Don’t silence critics. India will shine when it speaks,’ said Kamal Hasan. It will be much more exciting to see how Mersal Telugu version Adirindhi look like… will these scenes be as usually retained or deleted from final copy?
