Former Indian captain Ravi Shastri is appointed as head coach for Indian Cricket Team for two year periods until the completion of 2019 ICC World Cup.
Ravi Shastri has beaten all the applicants in game like former India opener Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput and Richard Pybus.
BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) took Indian captain Virat Kohli’s inputs before announcing the replacement for Anil Kumble. Later CAC member Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman together had a discussion with Sachin Tendulkar through a video conference to finish off the interviews.
In fact, Shastri was overlooked by the CAC for Anil Kumble last time and subsequently he also had a spat with Ganguly. Finally, the name of Shastri as head coach is not a surprise for many because he shares a healthy relationship with Kohli and other team members. Finally, Virat Kohli got a person of his own choice onto the hot seat.
