Cingireddy Narayana Reddy, popularly known as CiNaRe is no more. The legendary Telugu poet, writer and Jnanpith Awardee reportedly breathed his last today at his residence in Dollar Hills, Manikonda after suffering with ill health from long period. CiNare is considered to be an authority on Telugu literature.
CiNaRe was born on 29 July 1931in Hanumajipet, Rajanna Sircilla district, Telangana. He began the film journey film in 1962 by writing all the songs for Gulebakavali Katha and the one evergreen song from the film is Nannu Dochukunduvate Vannela Dorasani. Later he penned thousands of songs for hundreds of films.
CiNaRe won the Gnanapeet Award in 1988 for his poetic work Viswambara. He was honored in 1992 with India’s third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan and was nominated to Rajya Sabha in 1997.
Idigo Rayalaseema Gadda in Seethayya and Jejemma Jejemma song in Arundhathi are few of his last literary works. Team CJ prays for CiNaRe’s soul to rest in peace.
