Simhadri, Magadheera Records Fake!

Magadheera is the stepping stone for SS Rajamouli to think seriously about the socio fantasy genre which finally unfolded before world audience in the name of magnum opus Baahubali with whole lot of VFX. Apart from huge success, Magadheera also floated numerous controversies when rumors got it on opinion differences developed between Jakkanna and producer Allu Aravind.

‘In fact I do not have any clashes with Allu Aravind garu. He was never against giving my credit share in Magadheera. There is no truth in false claims but I am angry at him on only one aspect. 

In those days, producers used to announce and publicize 100 days records by adding extra theaters. I am completely against this unhealthy trend. I still remember Simhadri was a genuine success and ran 100 days in many theaters. We were very happy. Producers did not stop here. Fact is, Simhadri achieved 175 days feat in 15 centers but producers added 15 more in extra and made the total 30. I felt uncomfortable and could not own such a huge success.

Having learnt a lesson, I requested Aravind garu during Magadheera pre production stages not to adopt the approach of announcing mechanical records. He agreed so. Once Magadheera released and finished 100 days, slowly Aravind garu began to increase the 100 days centers declaring the (fake) records. 

When I questioned, Aravind garu called this as a delicate issue quoting Fans as the reason. As I do not want to be dishonest at work and deceive audience, I tried to avoid attending Magadheera 100 days function. Yet, Aravind garu is one producer with whom I enjoy comfortable freedom,’ Rajamouli explained.

Truth is, Simhadri and Magadheera records are proclaimed fake by none other than director Rajamouli himself.
