Comedy in Telugu movies has become so indispensible that comedians like Brahmanandam are sharing equal screen space with heroes. Poor story lines, lack of content have made comedy the only "saving grace" in Tollywood now.

"Today, no movie can be made without comedy. Its prominence is increasing with every release and the making the audience laugh has become the biggest aim. I've been flooded with offers lately and to put a tab on the number of films I take up, I've increased my remuneration now," said Brahmanandam. As per market talk, Brahmanandam has collected more than Rs.1crore for ‘Adurs’ and almost Rs.1crore for ‘Namo Venkatesha,’ which is nearly equivalent to hot heroines and few of the heroes remuneration. Sources say that, this is third time in last one year that Brahmanandam has hiked his price.

Small time producers now feel the heat that Brahmanandam is a costly deal.
