Winning a supportive benefit from state governments in the form of exempting from state levied entertainment tax can fetch producers a few extra bucks and also help the film to have long run in theaters. Very recently, ‘Gauthami Puthra Satakarni’ enjoyed such standard tax waiver from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments because story of the film is based on unsung historical Telugu warrior from Satavahana dynasty.
Looks like, producers Prasad V Potluri and Niranjan Reddy are in the same thinking process of approaching Telugu CMs KCR and Chandrababu Naidu with the proposal of lifting entertainment tax on ‘Ghazi.’ However, Gunasekhar and Krish forwarded a similar request for ‘Rudhramadevi’ and GPSK prior to release of their movies but ‘Ghazi’ makers have first proved the film to National acclaim bringing pride to Telugu cinema and later applied to two Telugu State Governments for tax exemption.
‘Ghazi’ has an integral connection with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana because the underwater war held in 1971 was to save Visakhapatnam and complete shoot, post production of the movie is done in Hyderabad. Let’s see, how Naidu and KCR react on eligibility of ‘Ghazi?’
