Guys, this is not a joke. Priest community in Nandgaon and Barsana in Uttar Pradesh issued a statement saying, ‘whoever gets the tongue of director cut will be given 1 Crore prize.’ All it happened during Akshay Kumar’s new movie ‘Toilet - Ek Prem Katha’ shooting schedule held in Uttar Pradesh, directed by Sree Narayan Singh.

Bone of contention is that, this movie includes a marriage sequence between a boy and a girl from Barsana and Nandgaon. This practice of arranging a matrimonial alliance between the above said two villages is against the traditional practice in this region because one village represents Lord Krishna and other is of Radha.

‘Actually, our film is about taking the idea of Swach Bharat forward and there is nothing controversial. We requested the people and priests in both the villages to support us. A section of people misunderstood because they are following a 5,000 years old tradition that a boy and a girl from Barsana and Nandgaon do not marry. There is nothing of such sorts in our film,’ producer Shital Bhatia said. Isn’t it really hard to believe that people are still following such age old ordinances even today?
