Sudheer Babu To Play Gopichand!

Following the Bollywood biopic trend, Telugu cinema is also soon to kick start a film on former Indian badminton player Pullela Gopichand. The project is reported to be in final scripting stage with Praveen Sattaru taking care of entire ground work. According to an update, Sudheer Babu has put forward this idea to make a film on Gopichand’s real life and Praveen immediately went on the work. 

Of late, Sudheer Babu was quite busy with Bollywood project ‘Baaghi’ and did not sign any Telugu film. With ‘Baaghi’ resulting in a big dud, he is back in Hyderabad. Most probably Gopichand biopic should land on floors in July month and Sudheer Babu is preparing himself for the title role.

To inform here, Sudheer Babu is a professional badminton player and was a champion in school, college level competitions. Achievements of Pullela Gopichand like winning All England Open Badminton Championship in 2001, winning of Arjuna Award, Dronacharya Award, Padma Bhushan and delivering his services in the sport by opening Gopichand Badminton Academy will form the major part of story.
