Kshanam, KV - Big Recovery!

After a very bright and positive start to 2016 with blockbusters ‘Nenu Shailaja, Nannaku Prematho, Soggade Chinni Nayana’ and so on in the very early Sankranti season, industry is again passing through loads of disappointment with bunch of projects failing miserably. As we are coming close to 2016 first quarter, situations looks bleak and summer is set to begin with queue of star heroes and high budgeted projects in offing.

‘Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu, Lacchim Deviki O Lekkundi’ started off the post Pongal proceedings taken forward by ‘Speedunnodu, Garam’ and the dull season is continued to ‘Krishnashtami, Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha, Shourya.’ Off late, we have seen only two films to name viz. ‘Kshanam’ and ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’ have played safely recovering their investment and assured at least minimal profits.

If ‘Kshanam’ is made on a shoe-string budget with contrasting casting, it’s the thrill element which drove it to success shores. ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’ from KL Damodara Prasad and Nandini Reddy is also a decent farer owing to strong Telugu nativity and ability to pull in family audience. Except these two, none of the flicks released in last few weeks performed to the desired level.
