Oopiri, A Special Film For Nagarjuna

How sweet and startling can be the reaction of Nagarjuna when a French film he loved watching 3 years back again comes before him in the form of a full-fledged remake script offering him to take up the central character? Both Nagarjuna and Amala watched French film ‘The Intouchables’ some three years back. The very idea stroked their minds then was to remake it in Telugu but Nag could not take forward the same due to other commitments.

‘Amala and I were really astonished when director Vamsy Paidipally approached me with the script. I had no reason to deny this offer,’ Nagarjuna said at ‘Oopiri’ audio function held yesterday.  As we all know, ‘Oopiri’ is the Telugu version to French hit ‘The Intouchables’ and movie is planned for release in last week of this month.

‘I play a paraplegic struck to wheel chair throughout in the flick. Though I am unmovable but my emotions and thoughts always go on run in this lively characterization which is centered on friendship, love and of course entertainment too. Director Vamsy wonderfully dealt the subject more with heart. After ‘Shiva, Geethanjali’ and ‘Annamayya,’ I am sure ‘Oopiri’ will be a remarkable film in my career,’ Nagarjuna added.
