There was time in the past when heroines who have crossed 20s and entered into 30s of age are considered as incompetent to romance with heroes. While heroes continue to grow in age and image yet they are seen in lover boy characters, the same is not the case with heroines. However, audiences of current generation are willing to accept older actresses because films from such heroines are also faring awesome at Box Office.
When the same question is posed before Bollywood heroine and National Award winning actress Vidya Balan, the reaction was this. ‘Now-a-days, makers are preparing scripts and stories for actresses of all age groups. Instead of alluring youth with heroine glamour, 30 plus heroines are getting chance to act in those projects which depict different stages of life. There are changes in audience mindset and the same is noticed 30 plus actresses too,’ Vidya Balan said because few of her films like ‘Kahaani’ very much pivoted on a middle aged protagonist.
‘No more love stories are ruling the cinema trends. In these scripts, how old the actor may be, heroines were becoming younger. Situations have changed and people are accepting actresses at every age because heroines can be interesting and desirable when they are particularly into 30 plus,’ Vidya adds her zing.
