Some films have a hit verdict written all over. Producers, buyers, technical cast and crew attached with such projects can sense a winning taste during the production itself much before they plan a release. ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ is a similar case because Akkineni Nagarjuna very much earlier forecasted a super hit result in the Kalyan Krishna directorial. Being a hero and producer, Nag was so confident about the output.
Although first copy was ready for release by October mid, Nag made a deliberate delay planning the release grandly in Sankranthi season. Moreover, Nagarjuna also received many calls from different buyers in various regions of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana States and of course, Overseas too. Without committing a trade error, Nagarjuna kept a major share in distribution business for himself and sold a minor share on profitable commission basis.
This not only shows cinematic business acumen in Nagarjuna but also ensures the faith he had on product. Not just wrapping a film on time, one has to know every in and out before keeping it for sale in open market. Only those who acquired this mandatory skill learnt with seniority are going to survive in film industry.
