Kamal Hasan is the most loved artist in entire India. His films speak more on novelty and urge to set different trends away from regular films. All this resulted and restricted Kamal into a small experimental space which is many times shortened in distance from commercial freedom. Off late, ‘Uththama Villain’ from Kamal and Ramesh Aravind enjoyed the appreciation from critics but could not cross the commercial barrier.
In fact, Kamal is deep drowned into financial crisis with ‘Vishwa Roopam 2’ yet to release and few more in different production, post production stages. May be for the first time in recent ages, Kamal thought purely on commercial lines and attempted ‘Cheekati Rajyam’ or ‘Thoonga Vanam’ in Tamil with himself as producer, story and screen writer.
Made within a very small budget, ‘Thoonga Vanam’ reaped superb profits in Tamil Nadu and now, ‘Cheekati Rajyam’ is also said to be moving on same lines. It is always good to see Kamal earning some money and this is the only way of calculating stardom in Indian cinema. Finally, Kamal is enjoying today a brief commercial space with ‘Cheekati Rajyam.’
