Drawing analogies between ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Mahabharatha’ has become the high selling point in media people. Ever since, Rajamouli explained his future dream to give an on-screen shape for the ancient epic and ‘Bahubali’ is seen as one step towards the big goal, obviously we are propelled to examine the commonalities in ‘Bahubali’ with ‘Bharatham.’

In that case, Bahubali and Shivudu are identical to Pandavas; Bhallaladeva to Duryodhana; Deva Sena is Draupadi; Bijjala Deva as Sakuni Mama.  If we take the characterization of most important Kattappa in the film, his white beard and being a slave to King echoes the brio of Bhishma Pithamaha. However, Rajamouli is not ready to accept this one.

Kattappa is not as powerful as Lord Bhishma. Our Kattappa is meant for sacrifices as he is a slave in the hands of King. So, he passes to be Karna. Like Karna has a pain from inside for being graded as warrior from lower community, Kattappa too has similar agony which he cannot divulge openly. If you are unconvinced, take Kattappa as a conglomeration of Bhishma and Karna.
